Hiking in Vrådal

Vrådal has a lot to offer hikers, and we can offer marked trails for families with children and more experienced hikers. The trails lead through forests and to mountain tops: something to suit everyone!
The seasong for hiking is from May to October.

On dirt roads (pram and wheelchair friendly)
Enjoy a idyllic walk along the archipelago and shores of lake Nisser. The lake is never far away, even if you don’t walk along it the whole time.
By the golf course at Fossøy you can find a nature trail suitable for all levels. Start at Småstraum locks or at the golf course.

Forest trails
Vrådal has many forest trails suitable for short walks, with or without poles (Nordic Walking). Read more here and ask for a map in the reception.

Roholtsfjell
The summit gives you panorama views of Vrådal and you can follow a T marked trail from the centre of Vrådal or from Heia between Kviteseid and Vrådal (RV 41).
This is a hike for experienced hikers and should not be done when it’s raining, as parts of the hike goes over a bare rock-face. Map can be bought at reception and at the tourist information.
