A warm welcome to celebrate Christmas and New Year with us at the historic Straand Hotel. We are a family-run hotel with long traditions dating back to 1864. At Straand Hotel, we celebrate Christmas according to old, local traditions with good food and atmosphere.
Christmas service, torchlight procession to Nisseland with mulled wine, Christmas aperitif with reading of the Christmas gospel, traditional 3-course Christmas dinner, and Christmas fun where Santa comes with gifts for young and old!
Ski bus to Vrådal Panorama every day, large Christmas buffet, Christmas coziness in the fireplace lounge with coffee and homemade clanging, swimming pool, children’s activities, and dancing with our Christmas orchestra every evening.
Open every day with sale of refreshments. Menu with sandwiches, small dishes and Straand burgers and the like until kl. 18:00.
The hotel’s dance bar or piano bar is open every evening. Live music on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Children’s film screened every night kl. 20:00 in the children’s cinema downstairs, under the restaurant. See notice at the reception.
Large playroom on the lower floor of the hotel. The playroom is not staffed, so an adult must always be present.
At the reception we have toy boxes with different contents and board games to borrow. Can be taken into the lounges or in the room.
Enquiry at the reception for equipment rental. NOK 50 per started hour. Compensation: NOK 250 per line, NOK 450 per queue.
Drying room downstairs with ironing board, iron, washing machine and dryer. Tokens: NOK 50, – wash/dry.
Storage in the north wing at your own risk. Do not store ski equipment in the rooms. Avoid slalom boots indoors.
Toboggan run below the hotel. Toboggan boards and trail maps are available at the reception. Ask about today’s trails.

Juleaperitiff i Straand Bar. Direktør Lars Arne Straand ønsker alle gjester god jul. Opplesning av juleevangeliet.
Vår tradisjonsrike 3-retters julemiddag serveres i restauranten
Julekos i Straand Bar. Stor kakebuffet med hjemmebakte julekaker, bløtkake, frukt og nøtter. Julesanger og julenissen kommer med pakker til store og små! Julemusiker spiller stemningsfull musikk.NB! Pakker til julenissen: Leveres i resepsjonen før kl. 17:00. Merk godt med navn + romnr. Kun én pakke per person.
Butikker og lokale tilbud
Julekos i peisestua. Kaffe og kling etter riktig telemarkstradisjon.
Ønskekonsert i Pianobaren. Musikkønsker gis til vår julemusikker.
Torgeir Straand kommer og spiller med fela si i Straand Bar. Kos og hygge i baren i etterkant.

Festmiddag. Vårt store kakebord med julekaker, bløtkake, frukt og nøtter, samt kaffe og te serveres i baren etter middag.
