General terms and conditions for events

1. Introduction
These general terms and conditions apply to individual participation in events at Straand Hotel, hereinafter referred to as SH. An event is defined as a booking of a stay in connection with an event organized by Straand Hotel. Any cancellation or reduction must be notified in writing to the hotel and confirmed in writing by the hotel in order to be considered valid.

2. Changes/cancellations
Changes and cancellations of participation in the event must be made no later than 2 weeks before the event starts. If the change/cancellation has not been made by the deadline, you will have to pay 75 per cent of the pension price. Cancellations made within 7 days of arrival must be paid in full. All prepaid orders cannot be changed or cancelled.

3. Payment of compensation
In the event of cancellation and/or reduction of an event at a later date than stated in section 2 above, SH is entitled to compensation equal to the full value of the late cancellation, including VAT.
SH always has the right to claim full compensation for services that cannot be cancelled, i.e. services from external suppliers on behalf of the client.

4. Subject to price adjustment
SH reserves the right to adjust prices in case of changes in VAT and other taxes/fees, or in case of force majeure beyond SH’s control. SH must inform the customer of any increase in such costs immediately.
The rates are adjusted once a year, as of 1 January unless otherwise stated in the confirmation; The rates for the current year are stated in the confirmation. A price increase of 3-5% per year should be expected.

5. Force Majeure
No party shall be liable for any default or delay in performance of its obligations under this Agreement (i) if and to the extent that the failure or delay is caused, directly or indirectly, by fire, flood, elements of nature, lockouts, blockade, acts of war, terrorism or civil unrest or other similar extraordinary event beyond the reasonable control of the parties and (i) provided that the defaulting party is at fault and the failure or The delay could not have been prevented by reasonable precautions.

6. Liability for damage/property
SH is not responsible for belongings brought to the hotel. If the belongings are of special value, the hotel must be informed of this.
The hotel is only liable for the full loss in cases where the hotel has assumed such liability for the valuable asset in writing.

7. Disputes
Any dispute regarding the interpretation or application of this Agreement will be settled by the Norwegian courts.
