From a Koenigsegg Jesko worth around 40 million kroner and a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing to a vintage car from 1904. Straand Bilfinale 2026 gathered more than 120 years of automotive history in Vrådal, Telemark. From September 25th to 27th, the car meet marked its five-year anniversary with a packed program, spectacular vehicles, and activities for car enthusiasts of all ages.
What do you get when you bring together vintage cars, American classics, modern supercars, motorsport, custom-built vehicles, and people who share a genuine passion for cars?
Well, then you get Straand Bilfinale!
From September 25th to 27th, 2026, the historic Straand Hotel in Vrådal once again became the center of one of autumn’s major events for car people.
This year’s event marked five years of Straand Bilfinale, which since its inception in 2022 has developed into a meeting place for car enthusiasts, car clubs, and motor enthusiasts from all over Norway.
What makes the Bilfinale special isn’t just the rare cars or the many activities. It’s also the people, the stories, and the community built around the interest in cars.
There’s room for both those who know every detail under the hood and those who simply find it fascinating to see a car they usually only encounter in pictures.
And that’s exactly how we want it.
One of the biggest news items at this year’s Straand Bilfinale was the exclusive Koenigsegg Jesko Attack.
The Swedish hypercar, with an estimated value of around 40 million kroner, attracted significant interest even before the event.
The Koenigsegg Jesko is one of the world’s most exclusive supercars, and the model is limited to 125 units. With a five-liter V8 engine capable of producing up to 1600 horsepower on E85, the car represents the pinnacle of modern automotive technology.
It was therefore no surprise that news of the car received attention in Norwegian automotive media.
According to the organizer, this was the first time the model would be publicly displayed in Norway. On Sunday, September 27th, an engine start and the opportunity to experience the car in motion were also on the program.
It’s not every day you get the chance to get so close to a car in this class. And certainly not in the middle of beautiful Vrådal!
News of the Koenigsegg Jesko was covered by several major Norwegian media outlets.
TV 2 Broom wrote about the rare supercar and its planned Norwegian premiere, while BilNorge focused on both the Koenigsegg and the breadth of cars and experiences at the event.
Bil24 and Reiseliv1 also covered the five-year anniversary and the many exciting vehicles that were announced.
Here you can read more about this year’s big car news:
Although the Koenigsegg Jesko garnered much of the attention, it was far from the only special car on the program at Straand Bilfinale 2026.
One of the best things about the Bilfinale is precisely its diversity.
Here, cars from different eras, built for completely different purposes, meet with one thing in common: They evoke excitement in the people who experience them.
This year’s announced car exhibition ranged from a fully restored Northern from 1904 to modern supercars and impressive custom builds.
Among the highlights were:
In addition, American cars, vintage cars, lowriders, modified vehicles, and a host of other enthusiast cars were on the program.
For us, this is the very core of Straand Bilfinale. A car doesn’t need to be the fastest, most expensive, or rarest to belong here.
Some cars impress with their technology. Others with their history. And some because the owner has spent countless hours in the garage creating something truly special.
We believe all deserve their place.
It wasn’t just the car exhibition on the program for the five-year anniversary.
One of this year’s major crowd-pullers was the international match between Norway’s Vinterveiens Helter (Heroes of the Winter Road) and Sweden’s Vägens hjältar (Heroes of the Road).
The popular TV personalities, who daily work with vehicle recovery and challenging situations along the roads, were set to meet in a friendly competition on Norwegian soil.
The program included precision driving, technical challenges, and recovery duels.
Here, it wasn’t just about speed, but also about skill, teamwork, and the ability to keep a cool head when challenges arise.
And perhaps a little about national pride too!
The competitions were designed as entertainment for the public, with opportunities to get close to both participants and vehicles.
For those who like big engines and spectacular vehicles, Straand Bilfinale 2026 also had a lot of exciting things on the program.
Saturday was set aside for show driving organized by the Royal Norwegian Automobile Club (KNA).
Monster Trucks, Rat Rods, and other special vehicles were announced here.
The show driving was intended to give the audience the opportunity to experience the cars in a different way than when they are parked in the exhibition area.
Because after all, hearing the engine start and seeing the car in motion is something entirely different from just looking at it in a picture.
At the same time, activities and entertainment were arranged to make the Bilfinale an experience even for those who don’t necessarily spend all their free time in the garage.
Straand Bilfinale isn’t just about looking at cars. For many, the opportunity to drive themselves is an important part of the experience.
That’s why Flying Start at the Fyresdal airstrip has become a popular feature of the program.
During Straand Bilfinale 2026, organized driving on a closed track was arranged, focusing on driving pleasure, safety, and a better understanding of one’s own car.
The activity was organized in collaboration with Viken Motorsportklubb and Straand MC Hub within the framework of Motorsport Norway.
The purpose was to give participants the opportunity to develop their driving skills under controlled conditions.
Here, car enthusiasts could experience their car in a different way than on a regular road, while safety remained paramount.
For us, this is an important part of the car interest. It’s not just about horsepower and top speed, but also about knowing your car and becoming a safer driver.
When the engines quiet down outside, there’s fortunately no reason for the car talk to stop.
During Straand Bilfinale, Afterdrive has developed into an important part of the weekend.
On Friday and Saturday, Benny Christensen, known from TV 2 Broom, was on the program as host.
Here, the focus shifts from the cars out in the parking lot to the people and stories behind them.
Because behind many of the most interesting cars, there’s also a good story.
Perhaps it’s about a car that has been in the family for generations. A rare classic brought home from abroad. Or a restoration project that started with a rusty car and a good dose of optimism.
It’s stories like these that keep the car community alive.
Afterdrive offers an informal setting with conversations, interviews, guests, and pleasant car talk.
And once you’ve gathered so many car enthusiasts in one place, it’s almost a shame to end the conversation just because the sun goes down.
The first Straand Bilfinale was held in 2022.
The idea was to create an inclusive meeting place for people with a common interest in cars, regardless of make, model, age, or experience.
Five years later, the event has developed into an occasion that attracts attention far beyond Vrådal.
Over the years, TV 2 Broom, BilNorge, and Viaplay Motorpod have all contributed to sharing the stories and experiences from the Bilfinale.
Previous events have featured the legendary Il Tempo Gigante from Flåklypa, special movie cars, American police cars, restored vintage cars, and even a full-size drivable Volvo V70 built from Lego.
That says something about the breadth.
We are proud that Straand Bilfinale has become a place where people meet across generations, car clubs, and interests.
For us, the event is as much about community as it is about the cars.
Over the years, several automotive journalists and motor profiles have visited Straand Bilfinale.
BilNorge has previously described the event as a kind of traveling version of the Oslo Motor Show, while TV 2 Broom has produced segments from both the car exhibition and the activities in Fyresdal.

Vrådal is located in the heart of beautiful Telemark, surrounded by mountains, lakes, and great driving roads. The area is therefore an excellent starting point for car meets, road trips, and pleasant weekend stays.
Through our work with HUBRiding, we also want to make it easier for car and motorcycle enthusiasts to discover the great roads and nature experiences the region has to offer.
Here you can start the day with a good breakfast, embark on an exciting drive, and return to the same hotel for dinner and pleasant company.
And during the Bilfinale, there’s extra life both indoors and out.
For us, this is precisely what makes the weekend special. People meeting, new friendships forming, stories being shared, and a common interest that binds it all together.
From the first Bilfinale in 2022 to the five-year anniversary in 2026, we have had the pleasure of gathering a great diversity of car enthusiasts in Vrådal.
