Easter 2026 at Straand Hotel.

Tradition, well-being and Easter atmosphere in the heart of Telemark!

Easter nuts, warming traditional food, good stories, activities, laughter and dancing.

Join us for an Easter experience as it once was – and as it still lives with us at the historic Straand Hotel in beautiful Vrådal. We have put together an atmospheric and content-rich Easter program for 2026 that we believe will be to the taste of your guests – whether they want peace and nostalgia, or laughter and a little dancing in the evening. New this year is that we have our own Easter host who ensures that everyone is informed about the Easter program and can book the Easter activities that are offered and that you offer as an additional activity. The Easter host will also have a meeting time at the reception to answer questions that the guests may have. There will be a reunion with our popular Easter musician, Remi, who plays up to dance in addition to an Easter show for the whole family with Kai Robert.

Straand Hotel – true hospitality since 1864!

Straand Hotel is a family-run hotel with soul and proud traditions. With us, old-fashioned warmth meets modern comfort – and our chef’s passion for good home-cooked food makes mealtimes small highlights in themselves. We take pride in delivering real hosts, and are happy to help you tailor your Easter stay for your group.

Program proposals:

Maundy Thursday (or Wednesday): Quiet arrival at Vrådal and Straand Hotel. After check-in, we recommend a dip in the pool or a short stroll in the surrounding area. Before dinner, we offer a warm welcome with cider aperitif and good, local storytelling in the lounge. Our Easter host meets the guests and tells them about the Easter program and also nice additional activities the guests can sign up for during Easter. An atmospheric start to Easter!

Good Friday: After a good breakfast, you can visit Astrid Søftestad’s charming silversmithy, just a few steps from the hotel. Here, the group can get their own, personal presentation of her work. Lunch is served outside – we barbecue on the terrace and offer Easter flavors under the open sky. In the afternoon, it’s time to do exactly what you want: go for a swim, read Easter crime novels in a warm corner, or maybe play cards with your travel companions? In the evening: delicious homemade dinner and then… Easter party with festive performance, live music and dancing! Here you just have to get out your dancing shoes and let laughter and rhythms fill the evening.

Festive performance

“It’s allowed to be cheerful…!

On this evening, there will be a steaming party performance with the Kai Robert Show!

KAI ROBERT SINGS JENS-BOOK-JENSSEN & SLAGERE LEADS THE SING-ALONG AND SERVES GOOD, OLD TRUMPET WHISPERS ON HIS SILVER TRUMPET!”

The performance went to full houses at Chat Noir in Oslo, and Kai Robert gives it his all on stage.

Holy Saturday

On this day, an excursion is on the program: We drive a beautiful round trip through West Telemark’s mountains and valleys. We visit Vest-Telemark Museum and Eidsborg Stave Church, and hear vivid stories about life in old Telemark. The trip continues to Norsk Skieventyr in Morgedal. Here we start the visit with a lunch before there is a guided tour and storytelling about, among other things, Sondre Norheim and the cradle of modern skiing. In 2025, it will be the 200th anniversary of Sondre Norheim, born in 1825. You choose whether you want to include all three sights or fewer. Back at the hotel, there will be an Easter quiz with fun Easter nuts and a cup of something good and hot on the roof terrace and nice fellowship. Easter Eve is rounded off with an extra banquet and… Yes, more dancing and fun!

1. Easter Sunday

The day starts with an atmospheric village walk in beautiful Vrådal. Along the way, we will hear stories about the place and visit the Louis Moe Museum and the Lock Museum, with the opportunity to taste locally smoked whitefish and genever. The tour ends with a bus back to the hotel and a tasty lunch. After a little relaxation, our nice host ensures a good atmosphere at Easter and invites you to social and entertaining activities such as bingo and quizzes with great prizes. A perfect opportunity for laughter, competition and Easter fun. The day ends with a good dinner in the hotel’s restaurant.

2nd Easter Sunday

After breakfast, some say goodbye and get a delicious packed lunch for the trip home. For those who stay a little longer, a quiet morning awaits, perhaps a dip in the pool, a walk and a good farewell lunch before returning home.

Do you want something extra? We can also add evening tours with stargazing, coffee around the fire with storytelling, church visits, classic movie nights or other tailor-made features as desired. See also the overview below.

We look forward to creating a good old-fashioned Easter – with that little extra – for your guests.

A warm welcome to Straand Hotel – we promise warm smiles and a genuine Easter atmosphere
