Hiking in Vrådal
Historic Straand Hotel is a destination where we have a lot of beautiful nature and hikes of varying degrees of difficulty in the local area. We are happy to help you find an afternoon hike along Lake Nisser, or a more challenging summit hike.
Veneli hiking area
The Veneli hiking area is a great hiking area, with opportunities for both hiking in forest terrain as well as a trip to the top of Venelifjell, where you have a view of large parts of the area around Lake Nisser.
Here it is arranged for trips that suit both young and old.
Hægefjell
From the top of Vrådal Panorama Ski Center, you can take the trip over the mountain peaks towards Hægefjell. The trip starts in forest terrain, but leads quickly up towards the tree line and mountain and marsh landscapes with great views of large areas both down towards Nisser and up towards the northern parts of the region
The top of Hægefjell is located at 1021 meters above sea level and the trip is moderately demanding.
Roholtfjell
Mountain peak at over 1,000 m.a.s.l. with a T-marked trail both from Vrådal center and from Heia between Kviteseid and Vrådal (RV 41).
This is a slightly tougher mountain hike where part of the trip goes on steep rocks. On this trip, you should wear shoes with good grip on both dry and wet surfaces.
At the top, a fantastic view awaits.
