We are looking for a reception manager for Historic Straand Hotel

We are looking for a professionally skilled, service-minded and committed person for the position of
reception manager at our hotel. We are looking for a positive, reliable, structured, flexible and
responsible person with extensive experience from the hotel and restaurant industry.
If you enjoy working at a fast pace, are committed to ensuring good guest experiences, and
enjoy working in a team, this could be the job for you.
Knowing the area around the hotel and telling the good story to our guests is important.
The hotel is open all year round and our guests come from all over the world. Our guests are family and
leisure guests, HUB Riding guests, tour operator guests and course and conference guests so there is
great variation between what happens from day to day, month to month and between the different
seasons.

JOB DUTIES include:

  • Create memorable experiences for our guests
  • Help develop and implement marketing and upselling strategies
  • The reception manager will plan operations in a rational and economic way and ensure that
    event bookings are correct, in close cooperation with the restaurant and kitchen manager
  • Personnel management and responsibility for employee development/training
  • Staffing and roster planning
  • Create an environment and attitude to ensure a positive working environment
  • Purchasing and invoice management
  • Time reports
  • Daily operations
  • Establishment and quality assurance of routines and checklists
  • Responsibility for financial targets, budget, reporting and achieving measurable results

This is you:

  • Fulfills the role of host and is a service-minded person who is genuinely committed to quality in
    the guest experience
  • Previous experience as a reception manager, or other significant position of responsibility within
    the restaurant/hotel industry.
  • Qualified as a receptionist and extensive experience from hotels and restaurants
  • Fluent in one of the Scandinavian languages, both orally and in writing.
  • Good financial understanding that balances price, product and quality in a profitable way
  • Ability to build good teams where you make each other good and cheer each other on
  • Good knowledge of applicable HSE and internal control requirements.
